  • At the Elmwood Hall Danbury Senior Center, Mayor Alves joined police officers to serve ice cream from the new Copsicle truck at the Grillin' and Chillin' event, and the center offers daily programs along with special events coming soon such as a Senior Show and Tell on Sept 8. Upcoming events include a Medicare session on Sept 16, free flu shot clinics on Sept 25 and Oct 2, a patient advocacy presentation on Sept 23, and a play-reading on Sept 24—programs aimed at engaging local seniors.  Tribuna

CULTURE NEWS

  • Antonina Chieffalo, known for her resilience and deep family commitment, was honored at the San Gennaro Festival held August 20–24 when local celebrations on Main Street and the Danbury Green showcased Italian heritage.   • Drum Cafe USA will headline the American Dream Awards Gala on Friday, September 26 at The Amber Room Colonnade where the group leads an interactive performance that lets guests make music with their voices, claps and movement.   • CT officials warn that using online betting sites outside the state’s licensed operators—DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics Sportsbook—can lead to missing funds and unclear terms.
