- ➤ On Wednesday afternoon, Deputy Chief Bernie Meehan and Firefighter John Whitehead rescued an injured hawk from Mountainville Road in Danbury — they safely placed it in a dog crate and transported it to Wildlife in Crisis in Wilton for treatment. News 12 Connecticut

- ➤ Former Little League World Series champion Todd Frazier (a New Jersey native and ESPN commentator) said on ESPN during pool play on Aug. 13 that he prefers New Jersey pizza over Connecticut apizza while play-by-play host Karl Ravech pressed him on the remark.
