ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Police reported that two people, including a juvenile, were hospitalized after a rollover on Black Rock Turnpike near Redding Ridge Market on July 9 at 10 a.m. when the vehicle traveled south — crossed the yellow line, hit a tree, and rolled onto its passenger side — prompting fire crews to extract the trapped occupants. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A state-led audit showed that the Division of Criminal Justice did not follow the rules and standards for handling family violence cases from 2021—2023. The investigation found six problems, including missing data and unclear policies, that weakened the system's reliability. WTNH-TV
- ➤ Two new laws aimed at boosting farmers went into effect yesterday with Gov. Lamont’s signature — one creates a tax credit for investments in machinery and buildings, while the other establishes a land access grant to improve farmers’ access to land.
