During Independence Day weekend Connecticut State Police made 963 traffic stops—25 for DUI and two fatal crashes—from midnight Thursday to 11:59 p.m. Saturday, and they will update the report as the busy travel period continues.

Connecticut Magazine has released a summer reading guide with books by local authors such as Suzanne Collins, Matha Hall, and R.F.
