Good morning, Danbury. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 19th of June.
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Regional Water Authority started using a steam weeder to fight invasive plants near its reservoirs—steam heated to 250 degrees bursts the plants’ capillaries. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced Wednesday that the state’s Extreme Weather Protocol will be activated Sunday at noon to protect vulnerable residents—such as infants, young children, the elderly, and those with medical conditions—as temperatures are projected to exceed 90 degrees. The protocol will remain in effect through Wednesday at 8 p.m. while cooling centers are set to open for those needing relief. WTNH-TV
