CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A prisoner at FCI Danbury, Jonathan Cruz-Carmona, was sentenced Wednesday to 12 months and one day added to his 200-month term after he assaulted a fellow inmate with a makeshift weapon made from a broken pencil and razor blades on Dec. 18, 2023— the other inmate suffered non-life-threatening injuries. - ➤ A Danbury man won $2 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket he bought today at the Sunoco on 300 White St. The anonymous winner said he plans to use the money to buy a house and travel to South America—while the store will receive a $20,000 bonus check from the lottery. News 12 Connecticut

- ➤ In Connecticut, Memorial Day on Monday, May 26 will see government offices—such as the DMV, post offices and courts—closed while many grocery stores and retailers adjust their hours for the holiday.
