- ➤ A Lending Tree report found that Connecticut families spent 5.5% of their income on groceries compared to 7.4% nationally—9.2% less than the average American household—and that they earned an average of $135,332 while spending $7,415 on food based on 2024-2025 data. The Ridgefield Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State lawmakers passed three bills on Wednesday that could hold gun manufacturers liable, strengthen firefighter cancer relief, and honor veterans with added benefits — the bills now move to the Senate before heading to the governor for final approval. WTNH-TV
- ➤ On Wednesday, lawmakers unanimously passed separate bills—one to expand cancer treatment coverage for firefighters to include skin cancers and another to support military families by easing school transitions for children of active duty. Both measures now await review by the other chamber before they move to the governor. WTNH-TV
